Dancensation Class Descriptions
**Dancensation is home to the Showbiz Kids Song & Dance Groups – Ask us how to audition for these very special performing groups.
Ÿ Song & Tap/Baby Ballet Combo-This 45 min. class is for ages 2 to 6. Students learn the basics in ballet such as the 5 ballet positions & many ballet terms. In tap, we focus on learning right from left & shuffle step. We also have time for fun creative movement.
Ÿ Tap & Jazz Combo-This 1 hour class is for ages 7 & older. Students learn the basics in jazz such as kicks, leaps & turns & work on flexibility. In tap, we focus on shuffle combinations & the footwork gets more intricate as the class advances.
Ÿ Ballet Technique – This 1 hour class is mandatory for all competition level group students. Ballet is the basis for all dance & this class includes ballet barre work to strengthen legs & arms & build grace in our performers.
Ÿ Jazz Technique – This 1 hour class is mandatory for all competition level group students age 12 & up. Students will work on flexibility, leaps, kicks & turns & learn to add difficulty needed to compliment their choreography class.
Ÿ Musical Theater Production Troupe-This 1 & 1/2 hour class is the same price as our 1 hour class & offers students the opportunity to work on an actual musical to be performed in March-“Beauty & The Beast”. For ages 8 & older.
Ÿ Musical Theater Dance for Teens – This 1 hour dance class is for teens who enjoy & want to learn more about musicals & auditioning for shows. This class is a must for students interested in being in their school or community theater play. We can help!!!
Ÿ Hip-Hop- This class is for ages 7 & older who enjoy “MTV” style dancing to Pop music. The style is funky & fun.
Ÿ Private Dance(all types)-This 1/2 hr. class is for ages 4 & older upon teacher approval.
Ÿ Private Voice-This 1/2 hr. class is for ages 8 & older.
Ÿ Punchcard Classes-Students ages 6 & older may purchase punchcards to be used at their convenience for extra technique & master classes.
All classes are held weekly for 10 months(Sept-June). Each class will perform one routine in Holiday Festival Revue & one routine in June’s Grand Recital except for the combo classes which may do 2 or more. Solo students will perform one solo routine per solo class taken regardless of how many routines they finish in each class.
